damn, 36in wheel base, was that the original geo in '88?

no wonder i sucked even though i rode every day that year. I remember i hopped on a pro performer i picked up cheap from some poser kid, liked it so much i that and traded the sport frame for my chrome hp 48 super pros and rode the GT til i got a new 91 master.

i'd like to see the double top tube make a return though, if the geo was updated, for a special release or something.
like 18.9 tt
12.5 rear
mounts on the top rear instead of bottom for smaller sprockets

The original specs for a Haro Sport were:

Top Tube 20"
Headtube angle 73 degrees
Seattube angle 70 degrees
Chainstay 15 1/4"
Wheelbase 36 - 37"

I always liked the Haro Sport, never owned one - had a Diamond Back Mike Dominguez (same geometry). I got a little excited at this post till I saw that it was simply a Mirra with a frame standing platform. The closest thing I've found to an "old school" set up (with the exception of wheelbase) has been the DK Transmitter, which I ride. I'm 5'9" so the shorter top tube is easier for me.

And for those not in the know, retro bikes are really big, check out ebay. You've got a lot of guys, like me, that are old school; like the newer bikes but would love the old school look.

I might still check into getting a frame only.

I checked into this bike at my local Haro dealer. Evidently, this bike is hotter than expected. They said that Haro was sold-out. Also, I've read some reports that some of the old school pros like Brian Blyther are now riding the 06 Haro Sport.

After looking at this bike, I think I'm gonna get one. First of all I always wanted a Haro Sport, 2ndly, from an old-schoolers point of view I'd love to have a frame with a "framestander," 14mm thick dropouts, & 1-1/4 headset.

Guys- they came out with a black one over a year ago. The mint green is the second release. If you look at the Vintagebmx.com forum you will see a thread about a twin top tube master going to be released next. If you even bother to look below at bootnie's haro thread, I posted a link.

There is a huge vintage market. Mongoose just made an exact replica of their 1980 Mongoose and it sells. That one has the original spec parts and 18" TT with 15" rear.
